George RuffMember of the Board of AdvisorsAs Chairman of Trinity Hotel Investors, George manages a diverse portfolio of 22 luxury and limited service hotels throughout the United States and England. Prior to the formation of Trinity, George was Chief Operating Officer of Chicago-based Seymour N. Logan Associates, Inc., overseeing its portfolio of commercial and hotel real estate. He was a co-founder and partner of the autonomous hotel division of VMS, where he directed all of the division's disciplines, including acquisition, asset management, finance, disposition, development and joint-venture relationships of VMS's 56 hotel and resort investments. George co-founded Ruff, Callaghan & Hemmeter Company, a Hawaii real estate investment firm Earlier in his career, George was Executive Vice President of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, growing globally from 14 to 25 hotels. He has pursued a variety of independent investment opportunities including the acquisition and reorganization of an international trade finance bank, the acquisition and privatization of NextHealth (Miraval Resort and Spa) and Sierra Tucson, a highly respected drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. In 1989, George was a finalist for the Illinois Entrepreneur of the Year Award. George is a Cum Laude graduate of DePaul University with a B.S. degree in Commerce and is a Certified Public Accountant. As an alumnus of DePaul, George is a founding member of the Real Estate Center (sitting on its Executive Committee), serves on the College of Commerce Dean's Advisory Council, chairs DePaul's Physical Plant and Property Committee, and serves as both a Trustee of DePaul University and a member of the University's Executive Committee. |
